It was an honour to be part of the 2nd edition of the I.I.M.U.N. Pro-Bono Role Model Series held in Srinagar, which brought together over 25 schools from across the valley — from Anantnag to Baramulla, Budgam to Bandipora. This remarkable platform offers students a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to interact directly with national icons, ask meaningful questions, and draw inspiration from their journeys.
Distinguished speakers included:
1. Dr. Kiran Bedi – IPS, Former Lt. Governor
2. Mr. Nasir Sogami – Advisor to CM
3. Mr. Tanvir Sadiq – MLA
4. Ms. Iltija Mufti – Politician
5. Mr. Athar Aamir Khan – IAS
6. Mr. Mohd. Yousuf Tarigami – 5-time MLA
Each speaker inspired the students with stories of service, discipline, resilience, and using one’s voice for positive change.
Dr. Kiran Bedi’s words especially resonated with the youth:
“The Kashmiri youth have always had potential — the key is opportunity. I.I.M.U.N. is doing just that, and it’s all student-led.”
Adding to the pride of the moment, it was a matter of great privilege for us that our respected Principal, Mr. Javid Ahmad Bhat, was present in the gathering. His participation among such esteemed personalities highlights our institution's dedication to progressive leadership and educational excellence.
On the sidelines, a GPN Educators’ Meet was also held where Dr. Kiran Bedi engaged with school leaders to discuss the current educational challenges in Jammu & Kashmir and explore collaborative solutions.
